Net Worth Update – November 2023

November was a bit of a wild ride, with the market on a quick decline from the last few days of October up until the last day of November. My cash accounts are still recovering from the expenses of the previous few months, but I am thinking that December will be the turnaround month, barring anything major happening.

November Liquid Net Worth:

This is my single biggest net worth increase month, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Things have been rough the second half of this year, so it’s nice to finally see a positive – especially a huge one!

November Total Net Worth:

Big increase here this month too! The housing market is basically flat/slightly down with interest rates being higher now, so it makes sense that my estimation went down this month. I’m still behind the July 2023 all-time high, but close to getting back there.

So let’s see how far my assets would take me at this point. I will calculate that using my average spending over the last 12 months. I’ll multiply that result by 12 months to get the total spending for the year, and then divide my liquid net worth by that amount. That’s how long I’d be able to live off my savings at that point in time.

$4054 average spending last 12 Months * 12 Months = $48,648 spending in a year

$364,276 net worth / $48,648 spending per year = 7.5 years’ worth of spending
