The month of May continues the trend in the wrong direction, it was definitely a rough month both from a cash account and market perspective. I had to purchase new tires which I was expecting to do before winter, but getting a flat tire that wasn’t repairable made that come quicker! I had some more medical expenses that needed to be paid off and on a positive note, a significant expense was making flight and hotel reservations for a vacation.
May Liquid Net Worth:
This may be one of the worst months I’ve had, just below January 2022. Hopefully, things start heading in the other direction later this year!
April Total Net Worth:
Even my theoretical rise in equity wasn’t enough to save my net worth this month.
So let’s see how far my assets would take me at this point. I will calculate that using my average spending over the last 12 months. I’ll multiply that result by 12 months to get the total spending for the year, and then divide my liquid net worth by that amount. That’s how long I’d be able to live off my savings at that point in time.
$3340 average spending last 12 Months * 12 Months = $40,080 spending in a year
$316,593 net worth / $40,080 spending per year = 8.0 years’ worth of spending
